Margaret Rosser is my great grandmother. Irene's car wouldn't start so Hiram and I picked her up and Hi took us to the Genealogy Library and he came and brought us home. Genealogy Library from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Irene got a letter from a LaPriel Sodarquest in Salt Lake 1681 E. Vine Street. She sent a family group sheet on John Rosser and Ann Davis and it included Margaret Rosser as their 1st child. Margaret Rosser is grandma Anne Elizabeth Clay Olive's mother.

We went to church from 9:30-12:30. Sunday School lesson was on Living Righteously in a Wicked World. Relief Society lesson was learning to be temperate. Nathanael's lesson in Deacons was on the Plan of Salvation. After church Nathanael went to school to write a mission statement for one of his classes. He was gone from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Jackson and I took a nap. I talked to my mom on the phone. At 5:00 we went to Hyrum and Allie Zeyers for dinner. We had roast beef and potatoes and carrots and jello and rolls and salad with the caramel brownies that I made yesterday for dessert. We stayed there talking until about 9:00 pm. It was a fun evening.

Kathy, Blake, Telena and Gregory came. She borrowed the 2 electric sanders. I did some washing. Hi went to church cannery at 2 pm and worked until 5:30 as quality control person. Jean King and I took some food to Kelly and Betsy Summers. After 5:30 Betsy's mom was there. Sister Shirley Chandler came in evening and we looked over the visiting teaching districts together.

I woke up around 8:00 this morning. Nathanael left at 8:00 to play paintball. He got back around 12:30 pm. While he was gone I folded laundry, did the dishes, cleaned the kitchen and my bathroom, got ready for the day. When he got back from paintball he vacuumed the main area of the apartment and cleaned his bathroom. I went to Woodburn with Kera to look for dresses. We didn't find dresses, but I bought some treats for Jackson and I got a sweatshirt from Banana Republic. We went to dinner at La Hacienda Real and then went to Hollywood Video to see if they had any good movies for sale because they are going out of business. Our friends Amy and Shawn Horlacher stopped by with their 3 kids and brought us two Papa John's pizzas they had leftover from a meeting for law school. We watched Aladdin. I made caramel brownies.

Ward Relief Society board meeting at 7:00 pm at Debby Coray's. Hi worked at church cannery from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Hi and I went to bank and transferred a time certificate that had reached maturity to another. I baked cake and made jello to take to Summer's tomorrow. Betsy Summers had a baby girl yesterday; 8 lbs 1 oz.

I woke up around 8:30 and took Nathanael to school. I worked for a few hours then exercised for about 45 minutes doing Cardio X. I worked for a few more hours. I ordered a blog book online. I picked Nathanael up from school around 6:00 pm. I made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. We played Scrabble and watched the Olympics.

Mel has appointment with doctor at 1 PM. Mary-Anne had ear infection. Peg and Mel slept on Liz's family room floor. Hi and I slept in the den on the hide-a-bed couch. Liz took Mary-Anne to doctor for check up. They gave Liz some pills and a prescription for Mary-Anne. Hi and Mel stayed up with Mary-Anne and Peg, Liz and I went to Pykettes and we each bought some clothes. We got back in time for us to load the car and go with Peg and Mel to Holy Cross for Mel to have laser treatments on eyes. We ate at Dairy Queen. We got home to Pocatello about 7:00 pm.

To go with Peg and Mel to Salt Lake about 3 pm. They got here at 4:30 or so. We went with them to Liz and Craig's. Craig some us some supper. Liz and Mary-Anne have colds. Mary-Anne is still very happy. She pushes herself backwards.

Today I worked for several hours. In the afternoon I took some stuff to Willamette for Nathanael. I watched a movie, made cookies from the cookie dough I made last night. At 7:00 I had an enrichment meeting at the church to plan the activity coming up in a couple weeks. I picked Nathanael up from school at 8:15. We watched American Idol and some of the Olympics.

Hi put light ... in dining room light. I cleaned out spice shelf. Hi washed it. I did some washing, paid bills. We mailed the letters. I called all the supervisors over visiting teaching. I washed quite a few salt and pepper shakers.

I worked, exercised. I finished work around 3:00. Nathanael and I went to Dick's Sporting Goods at 5:00 and we spent an hour in the store looking at everything. I got a sports bra and he got a Nike sweatshirt. We watched American Idol. I made chocolate chip cookies.

I did a couple of batches of washing. We took dishes back to Payless and traded green ones for blue. Hi had oil changed in car. We went to Kathy's and took them some oranges and looked at patterns for temple dress. Hi and I and Irene went to "A Light Through the Eternities" at Central Stake. It was interesting and made us feel that we must work harder to get into the Celestial Kingdom.

Last night Keith Stone finished shoveling the sidewalks and driveway. We paid him $1.00.
Work at Genealogical Library. I finished booking thru the last of 13 films of 4 generations. Sheets - looked for John Rosser and found 10 sheets with Rosser names. We had 10 patrons while we were there. Hi went with brother Ellis Call tonight to finish their home teaching. We had Gergory Jones our grandson this morning while Kathy took Telena to the doctor.

Went to church. Took nap. Nathanael worked on bar application and went home teaching. I made barbecue pork for dinner. I didn't like it. Watched Olympics and Jazz vs. Blazers basketball game. Jazz won. :)

11 AM Margaret to get hair done. Hair fixed and colored. At 9:30 AM Steve Long came and brought me a paper about the rollover of my 3 insurance policies into one. Hi and I ate lunch. Hi rested. Then we had our glasses checked, bought a few groceries at the new Albertson's at 4th and dBenton. We go tmy coat from cleaners. Hi had back ... arms from shoveling snow tonight.

9:00 AM I went on a walk with Kera and Ethan Boaz (and Jackson) at Riverfront Park. It was cold, but sunny. At 11:30 I went with them to Portland and we went to Ikea. We also went to Ross and then we had lunch at Red Robin. We drove to Vancouver to get medicine for Billy. I got home at 5:00. Nathanael got home from school at 6:00. He got Panda Express for dinner and I had leftover Red Robin. We watched the movie "Beyond A Reasonable Doubt," which was really dumb. We watched some of the Olympics.

We made appointment for Hi to see Dr. Call at 4:00 PM today. Hi has to take Carafate and Tagamet and Cardizem at bedtime. Kelley Summers came for funds for Boy Scouts of America. We gave him a check. Grant Pehrson, our home teacher, came and visited us. We are to find something good about our spouse each day.

Hi helped me with therapy. I worked on income tax. Ralph and Connie came and visited. I gave them the civil defense book and preparedness papers. They want to get fish bottled. Hi took Cardzin about 3 PM. About an hour later Hi had a reaction and face and neck went red and head and neck tingled and went red. We got in touch with Dr. Call in evening. He said to skip next 2 pills.

I worked today, did some laundry, did the dishes. At 2:30 I went to Willamette and Nathanael and I walked around the state capital because it was sunny and about 60 degrees outside. So nice! Afterward I went grocery shopping at Walmart. I made fried chicken and pasta salad for dinner. Nathanael played church basketball from 8:30 to 9:30 PM. We watched the Olympics.

Took book to Wilson. Hiram and I went to meetings at 5th Ward. Sylvia Wilker farewell today. Going to Tempe, Arizona mission. Sylvia's father died this morning. Hi and I went to Bishop Pincock and got our recommends, also to stake. President Ramstrom set me apart as a genealogical missionary.

President's Day
This morning I worked and exercised for an hour. At 1:00 I went and picked up Nathanael and we had lunch together at Subway. I came home and worked some more. I did the dishes and talked to Lisa on the phone for awhile. I picked Nathanael up from school around 6:30. Kera is coming over at 8:30 to watch The Bachelor with me. It's been rainy and cold today.

I mailed a letter to Blue Shield for Dr. Cox bill and Hiram January prescription.
I gave Hiram a Valentine and a book "The Unknown God" by Mark E. Peterson. Hiram gave me 2 cards. Kathy brought me the money from 6 sets of butterflies sold at Creative Arts, $14.85. She also brought us a card and home made candy and suckers. I went to DUP with Irene and to Genealogy Library from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Met with stake relief society at 7:30 PM. Hi went home teaching.

Nathanael went and played paintball from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and came home with flowers for me for Valentine's Day. I cleaned and exercised while he was gone. At 3:00 PM we drove up toward Portland to go out for Valentine's Day. We stopped at Deseret Book so I could see if they had the book "The Unknown God" that grandma gave to grandpa 25 years ago. They did not have it, but when I asked the guy working there about it, he started chuckling and said, "That is really funny because I just saw that book at Powell's (a huge used and new bookstore in downtown Portland) and I almost bought it, but decided not to." So he told us it was out of print, but he told us where to find it in Powell's. Nathanael bought some garments at the new Distribution Center that they just opened there and he also bought a new tie pin. We went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, where we waited an hour and a half to be seated. Nathanael had chicken and shrimp scampi and I had a pizza with cheese and spinach. We had a peanut butter cup piece of cheesecake for dessert. After dinner, we drove to downtown Portland to go to Powell's. It is the largest bookstore in the world! I've wanted to go for quite some time. We found the book "The Unknown God" because of that boy from Deseret Book. We never would have gotten that book if it weren't for him. I don't know why it meant so much to me to have it, but I just really wanted it and I feel really connected to my grandparents, which is such a great feeling. After we found that book, we separated and for our Valentine's gifts to each other, we were to each pick out a book we thought the other person would really enjoy. I picked "Between A Rock and A Hard Place" by Aron Ralston for Nathanael and for me, he picked a basic instruction guitar music book, because I've wanted to learn the guitar for quite some time. It was such a fun date. So thank you, grandma, for one of the funnest dates we have had in a very long time.

We went to church from 9:30 to 12:30. Nathanael had to go to work for a little bit from 1:30 to about 3:30. We are going to have a nice salmon dinner tonight around 5:00 and watch a movie.

Hi and I went out to clean snow from the front of driveway where the snow plow had piled it. Jean King came by and helped until we got it mostly done. She takes the newspaper to Emma Davis every weekday. Hi shoveled more snow later in the day. Hiram fixed the doorknob and lock in back door. He bought a new one.

Nathanael got a ride to school this morning from Brandon around 6:30 AM. I slept until about 8:00 AM. I got up and worked for a few hours, I folded laundry, worked some more. At 4:00 I went and picked Nathanael up from school. He took a nap while I went to Walmart to go grocery shopping. I got back at 6:30 and we had dinner: salad, chicken strips and baby carrots. We watched some basketball and Ellen. Nathanael had a church basketball game at 9:30 PM.

We mailed letters and bills today and bought groceries. The Stone boys came and shoveled most of the walks and driveway. Hi and I cleaned the porch. They cleaned Mrs. Davies driveway and sidewalks and wouldn't take any pay.

I was really tired today. I worked, exercised for only 40 minutes, did some laundry. I went to the bank and the post office. I took Nathanael to school at 10:00 this morning and will pick him up at 8:15 PM. He is still not feeling well. I took a little nap around 4:00 this afternoon.

We had the Stone boys come shovel the driveway and sidewalk. Hi paid them $5.00. The blizzard kept up and covered the sidewalk and porch again. Robert called. He had taken the bus to work. 3 buses got stuck and were ... hours in the bus then home. Hercules closed up for the day.

Genealogy library. Irene and I worked. A snow and wind storm is coming in. Kimmie called and wants a ride home tonight. Peg, Mel and Maren brought our car back and got theirs. Peg had to be back to work at 2:00 PM. When I got home from the library, Hi and I took Kimmie home. We visited Connie and family then went to Kathy's for a few minutes.

Today was our stake conference from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. After church we went on a walk in Orchard Heights Park since it was actually sunny out and not too cold. The Super Bowl was on at 3:25 (Colts vs. Saints) and we were going to a party, but that didn't work out, so we just watched it here and our friend Brandon Thueson came over because his TV is broken. We had lots of food: pizza, shrimp, wheat thins, cookies, brownies, chips and salsa and queso, lemonade. It was good. The Saints won the Super Bowl. We watched "Bones" later.

We heard the President's State of Union message. It's President Reagan's birthday today. I soaked the maroon towels and washed them. Hi shoveled some of the sidewalk and driveway. I wrote a letter for Hi. Amelia Marsh called us tonight. Kathy and Roger had new linoleum laid in kitchen Monday and Tuesday.

Nathanael was in Lincoln City most of the day today and yesterday, so I didn't sleep well last night. I cleaned and exercised this morning and then went to Red Robin to get a gift card and went to Target and the mall to get gifts for some people. I picked Nathanael up at the church at 3:30 and at 3:45 I went with Jennifer Walters to our stake conference women's session. It was from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. They talked about having faith and hope and to trust in the Lord and to follow the promptings of the Spirit. There were some beautiful musical numbers. The stake presidency then addressed some issues that some of the women had questions about regarding the role of the Priesthood in the home, being equal partners with your spouse, what happens what a temple sealing is broken, etc. It was good. There were refreshments. I watched Sophie Walters (Jennifer and Eric Walters 9 month old baby) from 6:45 to 9:15 this evening while they went to the adult session of stake conference. She is an adorable baby and was so fun to watch. Nathanael will get home around 9:45 PM.

Hiram didn't feel well in the night. Hi and I cleaned some of the stove and we set the oven to be cleaned automatically. I cleaned the the oven shelves. I did several batches of washing. I was too tired to go to Relief Society ward meeting tonight. Hi and I started to ... photos.

I exercised for an hour this morning. My work was having system problems, so I didn't work this morning, I only worked a couple hours in the afternoon. At 4:00 I took Nathanael to the church. He went to Lincoln City overnight with the Deacons. I went to Walmart to go grocery shopping. I had frozen pizza and Oreo's for dinner. (So nutritious, I know.) I made Valentine's Day cards and watched TV.

Hiram helps me with therapy every day. Mel took insurance test at ISU. peg called me at 10:00 AM. Their car fan went through the radiator. They had another couple drop them off at our house. We had lunch. They phoned Glen's Chev... and the ... at Rexburg who fixed their car Friday. Brian and Maren are sick at home. Peg and Mel took our car home to Rexburg.

I took Nathanael to work this morning at 9:00 AM. I worked for a few hours then exercised for 45 minutes. I worked for a few more hours. I did some laundry. We had Hawaiian haystacks for dinner. Nathanael went to Scouts at the church from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

I woke up at 8:30 am. Work was slow this morning. I exercised for about 45 minutes. I worked in the afternoon. I went and saw Nathanael at school. He will be gone late tonight. It is cold and rainy and foggy outside and Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, so I guess that means 6 more weeks of winter. I am ready for spring.

At Peggy and Mel's place it was 47 degrees below zero. Hi didn't sleep well. No school. 33 degrees below zero. Peg called us this evening to see how we weathered the cold today. Kathy's electricity was off-no heat from 7:30 t0 11:30. Roger took Kathy to Penney's to get a perm. Roger brought the children for us to watch until he came for them at 4:00 PM. Hi didn't feel well this evening. I made a chart for spec assignment people.

Today it has been raining hard nonstop. A very gloomy day. I woke up at 8:00 and took Nathanael to work. I exercised for 45 minutes. I worked. I did some laundry, did the dishes. I went to the post office to mail something to Aaron. I am going to pick Nathanael up at 6:15 PM.
